Black History Month: Unsung Black Heroes

"When people tell me nothing has changed, I say come walk in my shoes and I will show you change." - John Lewis

Whenever Black History month approaches, we are reintroduced to inspirational individuals that shaped our nation like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parts and Harriet Tubman, as well as modern individuals that have influenced our generation like Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, and Nelson Mandela. Instead, in celebration of ‪#‎BlackHistoryMonth‬, the Gladeo League is proud to present ‪#‎UnsungBlackHeroes‬, a curated collection about black heroes who have helped shape society with positive influence.

This month, we will be sharing stories of inspiration and grit from these unsung heroes throughout history. Gladeo League Members Mahal Williams and Alexander Walker-Griffin will curate content to celebrate the lives of inspirational black individuals who have influenced our lives but have remained unsung through history. Every week, we will release a blog post that highlights the achievements of an unsung influential icon. We will also be posting inspirational messages on social media throughout February.

Gladeo is a believer of "grit", and to strive for success, we believe that we must know about stories of people who worked to change society and became successful through positive influence.

Join us by using #UnsungBlackHeroes on social media! We cannot wait to share the stories of #UnsungBlackHeroes with you this Black History Month!
